I headed out for my morning walk listening to a Podcast featuring Hal Elrod, the author of The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Your Life.
Wow! What a great podcast! Hal shared his story. He was a mediocre student and not very involved in high school. One Summer he was hired by Cutco knives to sell knives door to door. Lucky for him, he was hired by the #1 sales manager in the company who believed in Hal more than he believed in himself. Hal took a Cutco fast start challenge very seriously and quickly broke the national sales record! This was a huge turning point for him. He earned enough money to buy himself a mustang that Summer!
Unfortunately, Hal did not get much time to enjoy his Mustang because he was hit head-on by a drunk driver and died for a moment in the car. Hal was brought back to life. He has a very compelling story and I hope you read The Miracle Morning: The Not-So-Obvious Secret Guaranteed to Transform Life.
The Podcast was full of good takeaways and I have already ordered his book and can’t wait to read it. One of the most impactful takeaway for my health and weight loss efforts and yours is the comment Hal suggests we say to ourselves daily.
I am committed to (whatever your goal is) no matter what -there is no option.
Just saying, I am committed to losing 55 pounds no matter what. There is no option. -out loud is very powerful! Just hearing it is enough to energize my goal and make it feel more attainable. Try it once, with whatever your goal might be. It feels great, doesn’t it?
Around 9:00 I sat down for my favorite breakfast, Chicken Pot Pie Soup. I also had a cutie and a handful of cashews.
I tried a new recipe for lunch and it was absolutely – delicious! Whole30 egg salad made with boiled eggs, avocado, green onion, paprika, sea salt and……..BACON! The recipe will be posted on Pinterest soon!
It’s funny because it seems like my body needs a snack around 4:20 (seriously) every day. I had Justin’s Amond Butter today and it was good. Cashew is my favorite but almond will do in a pinch.
For dinner, we had the pot roast from The Whole30 Guide to Total Health and Food Freedom and it was delicious- great fall comfort food!
I stayed up late tonight because it was Bunco night. I’m thrilled to say I made it through the night without wanting a cocktail or a sweet. I love life without cravings! Whole30 day 25 is officially checked off in the books.
